I believe Fender was acquired in 1965. What changed the most between before and after that? Pre-acquisition guitars are really expensive, so I was curious.

First, founder Leo Fender leaves. Then, the logo changes from the spaghetti logo to the traditional logo, and accordingly, the headstock becomes larger. The woods used also change, shifting the era from handmade to mass production. As a result, even within Fender, 1960s guitars and 1970s guitars ended up having completely different sound characters. By the way, in the vintage market, there is a world of difference in price between the 60s and 70s, but recently 70s guitars have been gaining appreciation. Some people prefer the large headstock with the pop logo. Also, 70s Fender guitars are heavy, comparable to a Les Paul, which is known as a heavy guitar.
